
It is our aim to use this site to provide reference material for educational purposes guidance on religious and spiritual matters. The objects of the Council are:
to set database of resources such as temples and / or priests in your localityto provide listing of festivals and events (in the form of a calendar)
to provide forum for discussing religious and spiritual issues and much more
to promote or carry out research
to provide advice, support and practical assistance
to publish or distribute information
to co-operate with other bodies including liaising with Hindu temples in the UK
to raise funds (but not by means of taxable trading)
to borrow money and give security for loans (but only in accordance with the restrictions imposed by the Charities Act 1993)
to acquire or hire property of any kind
to let or dispose of property of any kind (but only in accordance with the restrictions imposed by the Charities Act 1993)
to set aside funds for special purposes or as reserves against future expenditure
to deposit or invest funds in any lawful manner (but to invest only after obtaining advice from financial expert and having regard to the suitability of investment and the need for diversification)
to insure the council's property against any foreseeable risk and take out other insurance policies to protect the Council where required
subject to clause 9.2, to employ paid or unpaid agents, staff or adviser
to enter into contracts to provide services to or on behalf of other bodies
to do anything else within the law which promotes or helps to promote the objects
